John Lawton, CMCA®, PCAM® - CEO
Mr. Lawton has more than twenty-five years of association management experience. His background includes several years as a budget analyst for a large county. He has also served as a strategic planning and human resource consultant to other management companies. John has also assisted in the conversion of state-owned housing to homeowner associations in the former Soviet Union.
John started his career as a member and President of the Board of directors of a homeowners association and has served as site and portfolio manager. He served as Chairman of the Real Estate Assessor's Board of Review and Chair of the Mayor's Advisory Committee on HomeownersAffairs. He was a director of the Chamber of Commerce where he chaired the Business/Education Committee.
The HRW CEO is active in both the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and the National Association of Housing Cooperatives (NAHC). He is a past President of the Carolinas chapter of CAI. On the national level he is a former Vice-Chairman of the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers. For NAHC he is the former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Registered Cooperative Manager program and is a member of their national faculty. He has also written and trained for NAHC and CAI among others.
Cathy Wade, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM® - President
Ms. Wade is HRW’s President. She joined HRW after managing a vacation rental company and running their community management division for nine years. Ms. Wade has extensive experience in all aspects of community association management, as well as financial planning experience and a background as a small business owner. Ms. Wade hails from South Africa where she graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor of Economics degree. She is active in the local CAI Chapter, having served on a mentoring committee and provided training to new board members.
